Wanted to introduce you to some friends who are doing some amazing kingdom work in Chapel Hill, NC, Matt Leroy and Justin Simmons. They started a local church movement about 2 years ago called Love Chapel Hill. Love and miss these two dudes. Hope you are inspired and challenged as I am.
What are you thinking [...]

First Day of Kindergarten
Posted on 10. Aug, 2009 by Josh Agerton.
Well we made it…Benjamin’s first day of Kindergarten. It was awesome to walk him in this morning and drop him off with Mrs. Kelly (my own first grade teacher…I know, crazy huh). Saw lots of Mom’s crying…including Leslie.
Last night before bed he started to get a little nervous. Maybe it didn’t help that I had [...]

Stand By Me
Posted on 29. Jul, 2009 by Josh Agerton.
This song is a sign of the deepest cries of humanity. “Will somebody in this world just please stand by me in the middle of __________ .” (You fill in the blank.) Why does this song resonate with us so much? It’s what we long for…to not be alone. To be connected to something, someone. [...]

Camp Cornerstone: What They Don’t Prepare You For In Seminary
Posted on 28. Jul, 2009 by Josh Agerton.
Had a great week at Camp Cornerstone with about 220 kids and over 100 amazing volunteers (like VBS on steroids). It was a great week for these kids and our church…a real time of togetherness and serving the precious little ones.
As usual for Camp Cornerstone, our staff team was called on to be the humor [...]

Wanted to drop in a video here from our One Prayer Service Day from last month. Several church’s in the Auburn area got together to serve the community as one body of Christ…part of the One Prayer movement that nearly 2,000 churches participated in. We ended up sending about 200 people to work at Auburn’s [...]

Anyway
Posted on 06. Jul, 2009 by Josh Agerton.
Leslie’s mom, Joan, gave me this great gift for Christmas last year…one of my favorites. It’s a picture that her husband, Barney, took out on some country road in Northwest Florida, I think in Gadsden County. Anyway, I brought it to my office and have it leaning up on the window seal. It’s in this [...]

Fishing on the Flats
Posted on 03. Jul, 2009 by Josh Agerton.
Benjamin and I took a little guys trip down to Papa and Grannie’s home in Havana, FL (Leslie’s Dad). This morning we got up early and headed out for St. Marks Wildlife Refuge, just straight south of Tallahassee.
Had a great time. I caught a pretty big red fish right off then had a few others big [...]

Live Love
Posted on 30. Jun, 2009 by Josh Agerton.
I don’t know what it is but I’m so pumped about these next 6 weeks of worship at Cornerstone Church under the banner of “Live Love”. I just know how we are going to be telling people how much God loves them in some intentional ways in these next few weeks. And then exploring the [...]

The Story of Buloba Community Church
Posted on 21. Jun, 2009 by Josh Agerton.
Just wanted to drop in a rough video from a few weeks back in Uganda. It’s just a short telling of the story of Buloba Community Church, who we are partnering with. Hope this helps some of you get a little feel for the lay of the land over there in Buloba. It’s about 7 [...]

TIA: Signing Out
Posted on 22. May, 2009 by Josh Agerton.
TIA: This is Africa…and God is here.
I’ve just gotten settled into a 8 ½ hour flight from Entebbe to Amsterdam and I’m flooded with thoughts about the last 10 days. So here goes a few snapshots from my memory:
The family whose home I visited that had very little to eat. The 6 year old [...]
