It's absolutely important that we bear fruit... That is, after all, how we know our faith is real.

That said, we have to be careful that we know what the fruit should look like. It'll look different in different circumstances.

Sometimes soft and loving, sometimes hard and confrontational. Compare Jesus dealing with the woman found in adultery with when he called the Pharisees vipers and empty tomb. Compare Jesus not defending himself at the end of his time on earth with the Jesus who flew off the handle and dealt with the merchants in the temple)

What does the fruit look like. It depends very much on context!

Not sure if I am suppose to comment, but felt lead to since we studied this in our group.
Fruit in our Lives: healthy relationships with others, staying committed to God's Word, Praying on a regular basis.
These keep us connected to our vine (Jesus) and sometimes God or ourselves will cut the vine. God only does it to strengthen our faith, we do it because we allow earthly things to come between us and God. Some vines aren't cut they just need support to continue to grow fruit, hence forth: Community.
