I Will Help You

Here’s one of my absolute favorite Olympic stories. It’s Derek Redmond’s final run in the 400 m of the 1992 Olympics…along with his dad.

“For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, ‘Do not fear; I will help you.” Isaiah 41:13

OK…I’m going to comment on my own blog. I feel like this dude this morning…kneeling down on the track. Trying to get up and keep going.

And then the Father comes in…shew…tears.

Thanks you Abba for picking me up and leading me onward…taking hold of my right hand and saying, “Do not fear; I will help you.”

Love this Josh. Thanks for sharing. I too feel like this runner. What I love most about this is that no one can keep the father from his son, and he waves off the officials from trying to interfere.

This is a determined dad, like our Father, there to help his son finish the race and to protect, lift up, lead, and love.

Finally got to see it. We all need to be carried every once in a while…made me think of Dad.

Ya Em, made me think of Dad too…this is something he totally would have done…and did for us in many other ways.

I knew I shouldn’t have watched this. I knew what the result was going to be from the first note. Oh well. I needed it too. And thanks for tagging it with Abide.

This video is precious. I thought about preseverence.
It makes us stop and think about what the Father has done
for us and is still doing!
