Power in Poverty

Posted on 10. Aug, 2008 by in Formation

Just wanted to drop this song in this morning by Jason Upton. It’s one I’ve been listening to as we have been in our current sermon series “Cha-Ching”…money and God’s intention for it in our lives.

I won’t write much about it…just want these words to stand on their own. May need to listen to it a few times…

Good song. I’ve been thinking about the rich man some. I know he loved his money and all, but sometimes I wonder if he understood what in the world was going on. I mean, did the rich man really “get” what he was turning down? People are not going to give up what they have if they don’t fully appreciate or understand God and his grace and love and mercy and promises and majesty and powerfulness, etc. Like, if they really KNEW what they were turning away from…would they? Just wonderin’. Obviously money corrupts your view of things…latest pop stars are good examples.
