“Call to Me”

I’m sitting here in my office this morning just getting ready for church today. Thinking of all the people that will walk through our doors this morning to worship God. Some will come from the peak of a mountain and some will come from the lowest valley. Some will think they are all alone…living in a wilderness. For some it will check off the box and others it will be the very sustenance of their life. And some will wonder why in the heck they are even here…”this is pointless.” I’m praying for all of them.
I start most of my mornings listening to what I call my prayer songs. It’s just collection of songs that I listen to that kinda guide me in prayer. Just want to share one with you all today.
It’s by a guy named Jason Upton. You won’t find him on the radio much…he’s kind of a hidden, prophetic songwriter/singer. Might be good to get to a quiet place, even lay down on the floor and let these words be sung over you.
Click here to listen (song will automatically play from his website.) And buy a CD or get his stuff on iTunes to support Jason.

For some reason I am so moved by music, of all kinds, that often it feels like a needle injecting lyrics into my heart. I can close my eyes and feel God’s presence.
I don’t know, sounds kind of corny but, to me, music can be so powerful that it can change our whole persona, especially on Sunday mornings. Thanks brother.

Glad you took a minute to listen.

I’ve not thought of using music as a backdrop on Sunday mornings. My stolen moments of silence on Sunday mornings have brought me peace in the infancy of my pastorate. Sunday morning or not, Upton is good stuff.
I enjoyed your reflections on the mission trip and will try to drop by the blog occasionally. Be blessed.

Miss you so much Amos. Rusty loved the painting. Please tell Patrick and the gang I’m praying for them all.
Make sure Timothy sees the post…and tell him that he’s famous.
Much Love – Salogno
